The fashion world is already giving due attention to African prints. African prints are making hits in the mainstream media, from runways to international appearances, African prints are coming out on top.  One of the most popular prints, the Ankara print has transitioned into unique ready-to-wear globally and internationally. This is a huge win for African fashion.

This post is a tribute to the artisans who work behind the scene. Our YTPshop production process is simple but also cuts across two countries: The U.S. and Nigeria. Yinka designs all products in the U.S. and the YTPshop team sources the fabric from the open-air textile markets in Nigeria. Then, the YTPshop network of independent female artisans handcraft the products with love in Nigeria.

Nigerian weddings are known for the hype, fashion, food, music and of course fun. Now, it is time to bring out the Yoruba in me. Yorubas (one of the three major ethnic tribes in Nigeria) love to party. During my trip, I was fortunate to attend a wedding of a close friend in Abuja. Want to see my Nigerian wedding escapade?
